Job Summary We’re seeking a highly-motivated social media FANATIC to join our Social Media Team and help GROW our community. You’re a person who’s always on social media, either posting yourself and/or endlessly scrolling. You have a deep knowledge of each channel, how they work, which creators are hot (and which are not), and genuinely enjoy making connections with friends, customers, and brands online. You’re naturally creative, conversational, outgoing, opportunistic, and ready to be the face of a brand. You’re interested in a career in social and/or digital marketing, and are hungry to learn, gain firsthand experience, and expand your professional skillset and network.


Key Platforms (in order of focus) TikTok, Instagram, facebook


Location Bay Area, CA preferred – We prioritize candidates based in the Bay Area, but are open to applicants from other areas as well.


Contract Timeline 3 months (after which, potential for full-time hire)


Hours 10-20 hours/week (with potential to increase based on your skills and motivation)


Rate $25~ per hour (negotiable based on experience and skill set)

Additional information: This role has the potential to transition into a full-time position, depending on performance and interest. 


Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: create high-quality, visually appealing content, including text, images, and videos, that resonates with the target audience. Must be willing to visit local stores and engage with store teams/customers.  

  • Video Production: plan and execute video shoots, ensuring brand consistency and compelling content. Regularly visit retail stores where OoMee is sold to capture authentic content and stay connected with the brand’s retail operations. 

  • Social Posting: physically post content on a daily basis.

  • Social Ideation: coming up with and pitching new content ideas, campaigns, & executions.

  • Platform Optimization: stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and platform updates to optimize content and maximize reach.  

The following responsibilities can be expanded depending on your performance and motivation:

  • Community Management: actively responding to comments, DMs, brand & creator outreach Actively engage with the OoMee community on social media platforms, responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.  

  • Social Listening: reporting (back to team) on trends, platform opportunities and online conversations that our brands should be involved in.

  • Influencer & Advocate Marketing: help identify and collaborate with relevant influencers and creators to promote the brand and products.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.  


Education Bachelor’s Degree (marketing preferred, but not necessary) 


Experience 1-3 years in social media, content or digital marketing


  • Content Creation: Experience with social copywriting, photography, video shooting, design and video editing software (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro). 

  • Social Community Management: Experience posting natively onto TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, Snapchat, facebook; social listening; 1:1 communication with customers & brands 

  • Industry: Experience working with a retail or CPG brand (bonus, but not required)
